Bergey Windpower
Bergey Windpower is the oldest and most experienced manufacturer of residential-sized wind turbines globally. These American made turbines are revolutionary! The Excel 10 has only two moving parts and is the only small wind turbine to be certified by the Small Wind Certification Program. Bergey services off grid needs with the Excel 10 and grid tied needs with the Excel 10 and the Excel 15.
A Bergey wind turbine is a smart investment that will lower your monthly expenses, increase your net worth, and help support American manufacturing jobs. Simultaneously, it protects the environment and enables energy independence.
How Does it Work?
The Excel 10 has a 8.9 kW rated (American Wind Energy Association) power output and will produce 13,800 kWh annually, assuming an average windspeed of 11.2 mph. The rated sound level is 42.9 dB(A) for this 240 VAC single-phase, 60 Hz, turbine.
“I installed my Bergey 10 kW in 2001. I haven’t paid an electric bill since and the turbine has paid for itself. It’s the best investment I ever made” (G. Sansone, Oak Hills, CA).
The Excel 15 has a 15.6 kW rated (American Wind Energy Association) power output and will produce 29,800 kWh annually, assuming an average windspeed of 11 mph. The rated sound level is 48.5 dB(A) for this three-phase AC, Variable Frequency 240 VAC, 10, 60 Hz, turbine.
The Excel 15 is the most advanced and economical small turbine in the world due to its large rotor and excellent low wind performance. It can power a total electric home and an electric car or a farm or small business.
There are a number of different ways that the Bergey can be mounted. Some options need a crane, others do not. They come with Guyed wires lattices and self-supporting lattices. Some can be installed with earth screws and no concrete, while others need concrete. Site conditions will determine tower installation type. The local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) will also play a heavy role for permitting and installation methods.

Ducted Wind
Power Your Home or Business with Wind Energy!
If you are looking for an additional renewable energy source for your home or business, adding small distributed wind or a ducted wind turbine is a viable option, especially if you live in a windy region. Many of our customers combine wind and solar for an even more efficient energy mix! As fossil fuels continue to rise in costs, wind and solar still reign supreme as some of the cheapest and most efficient energy sources. So, what’s the first step to utilizing the clean and efficient energy produced by wind? You must consider many factors when thinking about adding a wind turbine to your home, business or farm. Where is the best location to source the wind? How will you connect to the nearest utility? What are the overall costs? While the answers to these questions and more are readily available, they are very specific to each clients’ unique situation. Contact us and we will assist you in making an informed decision.
Commercial Wind Options
Business applications for small distributed wind are everywhere, with smart business owners taking advantage of the energy resilency that wind can provide. The terms ‘sustainability’ and ‘green energy’ sound great in a press release — but being able to maintain your operations when the grid is not available is vital to your bottom line. As energy costs increase, saving money becomes a secondary bonus. Whether you would benefit most from a stand alone wind turbine, or one or more on your rooftop, we can help you make smart decisions and support you before, during and after installation.
